The leadership of MCCA and the chapter’s ability to serve and represent you depends upon the recruitment and election of qualified and dedicated leaders! Please take this opportunity to consider nominating yourself or another MCCA member for one of these important offices!
To nominate yourself or someone else for one of these offices, complete the form below and submit it to the Elections Committee. Nominations must be returned by April 15, 2010.
All nominees must be current MCCA members. All offices are one year terms, unless otherwise indicated.

MCCA Officer Duties (Printer friendly version: Duties of Officers )
- President Responsibilities
- To serve as presiding officer, provide leadership and assist MCCA in achieving its mission and purposes.
- To preside over the executive board meetings and other planning meetings of MCCA.
- To appoint chairpersons of both standing and special committees of MCCA, except where otherwise specified in these By-Laws.
- To serve as an ex-officio member on all committees of MCCA.
- To serve as one of the representatives on the MCA Governing Council and appoint additional representatives as necessary.
- To submit all reports and other communications as may be requested or required by MCA.
- To create a budget in collaboration with the Treasurer.
- To work with the Communications Director in planning four quarterly newsletters.
- To coordinate the nominations and elections of officers
- To serve as a member of the MCCA executive board.
- To be responsible for the coordination of the MCCA professional development programs.
- To serve as a member of the MCCA executive board.
- To perform duties of the President in the event of incapacitation or absence of President.
- To serve as a member of the MCCA executive board.
- To create and maintain records of the proceedings and meetings of MCCA.
- To conduct the official correspondence of the MCCA, including issuance of notices of meetings when requested by the President.
- To serve as a member of the MCCA executive board.
- To review and approve requests for disbursements which have been authorized by the MCCA executive board.
- To present reports of the financial status of MCCA at the executive board meetings.
- To prepare an annual budget in collaboration with the President.
- To maintain the MCCA financial records for an annual audit. Such audit will be performed at the discretion of the executive board.
To provide annual financial report to MCA.
- Distribute membership applications
- Process applications, send new member letter, receipt, and membership card
- Maintain membership list to include name, school/agency, and contact info.
- Process checks and keep financial record of funds received
- To edit and prepare four quarterly issues of “Counselor Link” the official publication of the MCCA.
- To work with the President on other publications or the association
- To assist in the ongoing development and management of the MCCA website.
- To monitor the MCCA website for updates and removal of old content and to contact the website manager of same.
- Members-at-Large (1) from each constituency: elementary school, middle school, high school, career and technical education, private practice/agency.
- To serve as members of the MCCA Executive Board.
- To coordinate the promotion and provision of programming for their constituencies.
- To represent their respective constituencies and report to the executive board any concerns from these constituencies.
- To write an article or recruit others to write for the quarterly newsletter.
